Good Citizen Dog Scheme

The UKs Largest Dog Training Programme

The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme promotes responsible dog ownership by teaching owners to train their dogs for everyday life situations.  There are four levels, namely Puppy Foundation, Bronze, Silver and Gold, each one developing an owners understanding while building a dog's confidence and levels of domestic obedience skills.

Any dog can take part in the scheme.  Pedigree or crossbreed, young or old, your dog does not have to Kennel Club registered.

Below I have listed some of the exercises taught in the Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards

Puppies (up to 6 months) have their very own Puppy Foundation Award which is a fabulous start in life for your dog. The puppy foundation teaches the owners responsibility and care of your pup, play, socialisation with people, other dogs, their environment and every day noises and situations. Recall, basic positions, learning to walk nicely on a lead, a stay, and food manners. As well as all that, there will be some games, a High Street walk, a 'Discovery' week,  some very low impact agility and an Art class!  As there is so much that goes into the puppy classes, they span a period of 10 weeks!
